The culture of the Democratic Republic of Congo reflects the diversity of its hundred ethnic groups and their diferents ways of life througout the country
Since the 19th century, tradicional ways of life have undergone changes brought about the colonialism, the signation of Mobutu era and the first and second Congo Wars. Another feature in Congo culture is the sui generis music, the DRoC has blended its ethnic musical source with Cuban Rumba and Merengue to give birth to Soukos. The culture and costums of the Congo have retained much of their individuality.
